I used “Inside Out” as my inspiration for this animated GIF.  I loved this movie.  If you don’t know it, it’s about all the different emotions a person can have and the “inside” look on how we use those emotions in sorting out whatever may be going on in our lives.  It’s a great message that if we’re a little sad, angry, or scared, we can always find our happiness, even if it takes us some time.  If you haven’t watched it yet, definitely go do that.

I chose this particular scene because I think it demonstrates the different emotions all at once very well.  Because I want to be a teacher, it’s important to be able to teach students that having different emotions is okay and to figure different ways to stay calm and restore our “happy place” in order to stay focused.  A lot of worksheets and strategies use “Inside Out” as key indicators for students to find an easier way to discuss how they’re feeling and how to verbalize their thoughts.

I got the clip from this YouTube video. I then used the website giphy.com to create the animated GIF.  I’ve never used this website before, nor have I ever made a GIF before, but it was so easy.  The only thing that was difficult, was finding a clip that was less then 15 minutes long.  The website can’t do anything with videos that are over that time limit.  Once I uploaded the clip, I was able to determine the speed and at what point in the clip I wanted the GIF to start at.  Then, all I had to do was finish uploading the video and it was posted to the website.  It even gives you an embedded code for easy transfer to your blog.
