Hi everyone!
I’m Julia! I’m an Elementary Education major. I’ll be graduating in December and I cannot wait. Student teaching will happen this upcoming September and I’ll be in either a third- or fourth-grade classroom. I am so excited to start this!
Interests (in no particular order):
- Rom-Coms
- 3D Printing
- Music (Fun fact: I can sing any song that plays on the radio. My commute to UNE is 45 minutes and the radio gets played a lot.)
Hobbies (in no particular order):
- Reading
- My favorite books are anything by Nicholas Sparks and All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr.
- Cooking (I make a great lasagna!)
- 3D Printing
- Hiking
- Watching TV
- Grey’s Anatomy
- Blue Bloods
- Blindspot
- The Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise
- Law and Order: SVU
Since I am graduating in December, I’ll be looking for a long-term substitute position in K-8, but hopefully in third- or fourth-grade! After that, I’ll apply for full-time teaching positions. It’s definitely intimidating to be at this point in life, but I am also very excited to begin this process. Fingers crossed!
I have taken an online class before. It was a few years ago and it was an Education class at USM that dealt with storytelling and writing our own children’s book. I loved my story and I’ve been thinking about trying to publish it for some time now. Maybe that will be a summer goal!
Looking forward to this class and how to bring it into my future teaching career!
