This is Othello! He’s the best snuggle cat in the world.  But he’s clearly not the best to have a picture with.  I cannot tell you how many times we try, or more like I try, to take a decent picture.  It’s pretty much impossible.  However, you still have to love him.

I adopted Othello two years ago.  He was so small back then! I really wanted to name him Ralph, but he responds to Othello.  Which is fine.  I’m very interested in all of Shakespeare’s plays so this was a good match.  He also came from Tennessee and this was perfect because I spent about a year going to school there!

Fun facts about Othello:

  1. He loves to sleep.
  2. He loves to perch on the windowsill and look at all the birds in the backyard. (He’s an indoor cat.)
  3. He’s a great guard cat. (Whenever a new person comes to the door, or the mailman, he growls. Although, he also growls when the pizza delivery person comes, so he clearly needs some training on this.)
  4. His favorite toys are anything string-like that moves constantly or lights.
  5. He plays fetch. (Sometimes I think Othello is just a dog in disguise.)
  6. He despises getting his picture taken. (Even though I’m relentlessly trying to change this.)
